If I gave two people the exact same apple seed and one planted it in nutrient-rich soil, watered it and gave it sunlight, while the other placed theirs on a windowsill with only sunlight, we wouldn’t be surprised by the outcome. One would begin to see growth, while the other would see nothing.

The difference is not the seed. The difference is the environment.

One environment stimulated what was already inside the seed, allowing it to come to life. The other environment, despite the same potential, did not call anything forth.

This is the power of environment. You can have all the potential in the world, but if your environment doesn’t activate it, it will remain dormant.

And this is where many of us get frustrated with ourselves. We question our discipline, our consistency, even our capability, without pausing to ask whether our environment is actually set up to support our growth.

Because growth is not just about effort. It is about alignment. When your environment and your potential are working together, growth feels natural. When they are not, it feels like resistance.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to explore this idea further on The UnLearners Podcast, Episode 47: Change Your Environment To Change Yourself
