In our work around imposter syndrome, we often say:
Yes, you can rewire your confidence.
Yes, you can relearn how to show up.
But there’s a step people don’t expect:
Check yourself.
Because sometimes, we jump straight to:
“This is unwarranted.”
“I’m amazing.”
“I don’t deserve to feel this way.”
And we miss the question:
Where is the learning in this experience?
Is there something you could have done differently?
Could you have prepared more?
Was there a question that caught you off guard?
Was there a gap you didn’t see?
This is not about belittling yourself.
It’s about taking accountability.
To explore this idea of accountability and growth more deeply, tune into The UnLearners Podcast episode: “Check Yourself – You’re not always right.”
