When you build up a reputation, or a level of expertise in a certain area, something interesting starts to happen.
You begin to believe that you are not prone to error.
But to err is human.
Making mistakes is literally how we learn.
And yet, we find ourselves in moments where it becomes a showdown:
“I’m right. You’re wrong. And I’m going to prove it.”
Instead of asking:
What is the right thing in this situation?
How do I detach my personality from this moment?
Because when it becomes about how I look, how I’m perceived, or whether I feel right… we lose the actual objective.
This is a powerful mindset shift to sit with. If you’d like to explore it further, listen to The UnLearners Podcast episode: “Check Yourself – You’re not always right.”
