Many of us have a clear vision of who we want to become. We set goals, we imagine new futures, and we commit to change. Yet, despite this clarity, we often find ourselves stuck.
The reason is simple. While your mind may have moved forward, your environment is still reinforcing your past.
Your daily surroundings, conversations, routines, and spaces may still be calling you back to the version of yourself you are trying to leave behind. And over time, this creates friction that makes change feel difficult, or even impossible.
If your environment is not aligned with your vision, your progress will stall, and in some cases, even reverse.
This is why change cannot just be an internal decision. It must be supported externally. Without that support, you are constantly working against the very thing that surrounds you.
And over time, that becomes exhausting. Not because you are incapable, but because you are trying to grow in a space that is not designed for who you are becoming.
If you’re navigating change and feeling this tension, I invite you to explore this further on The UnLearners Podcast, Episode 47: Change Your Environment To Change Yourself
